About the Team:

Come and be a part of the EMEA Business Development Team!  We promote the Medidata portfolio directly to our customers. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you'll identify new potential customers and unexplored markets. Collaborating with multiple diverse teams including Demand Marketing, Account Executives and Product Specialists you will create and qualify new business opportunities, creating growth for Medidata Solutions.

  • Demonstrate a strong evaluation plan with clear strategies to draw out answers effectively to qualify identified opportunities.
  • Build relationships with new and existing contacts specific to your territory to generate demand for a specific Medidata portfolio, research and exploration of a prospects core challenges
  • Have a solid engagement-to-delivery ratio to drive a robust pipeline line with a firm understanding of what is needed to overachieve on quota
  • Coordinate qualified opportunity handoff from the Business Development team to assigned Account Managers and product specialists
  • Take ownership of your  opportunity management, identifying risks, and back everything up with data-based insights.
  • Participate in company-sponsored customer facing events and marketing driven campaigns designed to stimulate more brand and product awareness


  • Successful sales/business development experience, with a history of overachieving against sales goals and a working understanding of sales methodologies.
  • Confident communicator across multiple channels, engaging prospective customers. 
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance multiple internal stakeholders' needs and show impact on the sales pipeline.
  • Passion for the life sciences industry and improving patients' lives by bringing novel therapeutics to market.
  • Team player motivated to exceed in their own business area.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Development/Laboratory environments.
  • SaaS sales experience is a plus, but not essential

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. This  sales position is eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, Medidata believes that other benefits should connect you to the support you need when it matters most and provides best-in-class benefits, including medical, dental, life and disability insurance; a generous pension; and 25+ paid holidays per year.
