New Member of Executive Management Team to
Drive Financial Strategy for Market-Leading EDC Company

NEW YORK, NY – October 11, 2007 – Medidata Solutions, a global provider of electronic clinical data capture, management and reporting solutions, today announced the appointment of Bruce Dalziel as chief financial officer (CFO) to lead the company’s finance and legal functions. Dalziel brings over 25 years of experience to Medidata Solutions with a strong background in driving financial strategy and results across functions for global corporations.

Before joining Medidata, Dalziel served as the CFO of NYSE-listed BISYS Inc. from 2005 to 2007, and as CFO of NASDAQ-listed DoubleClick, Inc. from 2000 to 2005. During his tenure in these positions, Dalziel managed all aspects of finance—including financial reporting and control, tax, treasury and risk management, as well as investor relations, facilities, corporate technology, business operations and legal, with substantial merger and acquisitions activity in both roles. Prior to DoubleClick, Dalziel held a variety of positions at Prudential Insurance Company of America over a 14 year period, including corporate vice president of financial planning and analysis, vice president of institutional asset management sales and CFO of international insurance. Dalziel has degrees in Industrial Engineering (Georgia Tech) and English Literature (Ursinus College) and earned his MBA from Columbia University.

“Medidata Solutions is a recognized industry leader in delivering high quality technology and services to facilitate clinical trials. The company has generated impressive growth in revenues over the past several years, based on deep customer relationships and innovative technology,” said Bruce Dalziel, CFO of Medidata Solutions. “I am excited to join the team to help the company continue to achieve its objectives.”

Through the first half of 2007, Medidata achieved 98 percent revenue growth and grew its staff by 75 percent, with strategic additions made to its executive management team as well as its product, services and support functions worldwide. Dalziel replaces Medidata’s former CFO Rick Smith, who will continue working with the company as a consultant.

“Bruce’s broad financial management expertise will play a critical role in bringing Medidata into our next phase of growth as we continue to expand globally,” said Tarek Sherif, CEO of Medidata Solutions. “We’re excited to bring in Bruce as a member of our executive management team to execute and drive financial strategy and legal functions across the company.”
