NEW YORK, N.Y. – November 10, 2011 – Medidata Solutions (NASDAQ: MDSO), a leading global provider of SaaS-based clinical development solutions, today announced that it has been named to the Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500™ list, a ranking of the 500 fastest growing technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences and clean technology companies in North America. Due to increasing customer commitments from global pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies and academic research institutions, as well as new and expanding partnerships with clinical research organizations (CROs), Medidata grew 359 percent during Deloitte’s Fast 500 eligibility period and ranked #247 on the list.

In addition to new customers, partnerships and product development, Medidata further expanded its offerings and expertise over the past year with the acquisition of Clinical Force, a pioneer in SaaS-based clinical trial management systems (CTMS).

Technology Fast 500 award winners are selected based on percentage fiscal year revenue growth from 2006 to 2010. In order to be eligible for Technology Fast 500 recognition, companies must own proprietary intellectual property or technology that is sold to customers in products that contribute to a majority of the company's operating revenues.
