About the Team:
The Senior Staff Test Engineer will lead and elevate our automation engineering practice by architecting scalable, AI-powered test frameworks that accelerate software delivery across our quality engineering organization. This role will directly impact the reliability and speed of our product releases by driving a culture of quality engineering, mentoring a team of automation engineers, and embedding intelligent testing solutions — including custom AI agents and our CI/CD pipelines. Over the next 6–12 months, this role is expected to: (1) establish a standardized automation framework adopted across all quality engineering teams, (2) reduce manual testing effort through AI-assisted test generation and execution, and (3) build a high-performing automation team capable of independently owning quality for multiple release streams.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a team of automation engineers, setting technical direction, reviewing work, and driving accountability for quality deliverables
- Architect and own scalable Python-based test automation frameworks using strong OOP design principles
- Drive CI/CD pipeline integration for automated test execution using GitHub Actions or equivalent systems
- Build and maintain custom AI agents to enhance test engineering workflows — including test case generation, intelligent test selection, and quality reporting
- Follow up with multiple stakeholders across engineering, product, and release management to ensure on-time, quality releases
- Independently own automation projects end-to-end — from design through implementation, execution, and reporting
- Define and enforce automation best practices, coding standards, and test coverage strategies across the team
- Integrate automated test suites into deployment workflows to enable continuous quality feedback
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to embed quality early in the development lifecycle
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field
Required:
- Hands-on Python development experience with strong OOP design and clean code principles
- Proven ability to architect and maintain scalable test automation frameworks from scratch
- Strong understanding of CI/CD concepts and practical experience with GitHub Actions or equivalent (Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI)
- Experience building or working with custom AI/LLM agents in a test engineering or quality context
- Solid knowledge of software testing methodologies
- Experience with API test automation using REST or GraphQL (Pytest, Requests, or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and grow a team of automation engineers
- Ability to independently own and drive automation projects with minimal supervision
- Experience managing and following up with multiple stakeholders across engineering, product, and release management
- Proficiency with version control workflows — Git, branching strategies, pull request reviews
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for cross-team collaboration and documentation
- Experience integrating automated test suites into deployment pipelines for continuous quality feedback
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices and sprint-based delivery
- Experience with test management tools such as Jira and Zephyr Scale
- Experience with software quality engineering or test automation
