About the Team:
As the Marketing Operations Project Manager, you will report to the Director, Marketing Operations - PM & Planning and play an important role in enabling Marketing teams to plan and execute complex initiatives effectively.
You will lead project management for our owned, customer-facing events while supporting key initiatives across Growth Marketing and other Marketing teams. You will apply and continuously improve project management processes, frameworks, and best practices to bring structure, visibility, and accountability to cross-functional work.
Working closely with Marketing and cross-functional stakeholders, you will manage project plans, timelines, dependencies, risks, and communications from kickoff through completion. You will serve as a trusted project management partner who helps teams navigate complexity, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver against shared objectives.
This role is ideal for a highly organized and collaborative project manager who has a strong understanding of Marketing, enjoys solving complex problems, and is motivated to continuously improve how teams work. You will also leverage AI and technology to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and enable more efficient project execution.
Responsibilities:

Lead end-to-end project management for owned events and key Growth Marketing initiatives, developing project plans, timelines, milestones, and deliverables while ensuring successful execution from kickoff through completion.

Apply and continuously improve project management frameworks, processes, and best practices across Events, Growth Marketing, and other assigned Marketing programs to improve consistency, efficiency, and execution.

Drive cross-functional alignment and accountability by establishing clarity around roles and responsibilities, priorities, dependencies, decision points, and communication across Marketing and partner teams.

Navigate complexity, ambiguity, and changing priorities by proactively identifying dependencies, risks, and issues; facilitating resolution; and adapting project plans as business needs evolve.

Manage project visibility and governance through effective use of project management systems, ensuring plans, milestones, ownership, status, risks, and key information remain accurate, visible, and actionable.

Track project health and operational performance, using project data and stakeholder feedback to identify risks, improve execution, and recommend opportunities to strengthen processes and ways of working.

Leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline project management workflows, improve planning and documentation, automate repetitive activities, and increase team productivity and effectiveness.
Qualifications:

5-7 years of experience in project management, marketing operations, event planning, event production, or a related discipline, preferably in a B2B technology, agency, or in-house marketing environment..

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field.

Strong understanding of Marketing processes and how cross-functional teams work together, with particular experience supporting Events, Growth Marketing, or related marketing activities.

Demonstrated experience managing complex, cross-functional projects with multiple interdependencies, stakeholders, and competing priorities.

Proven ability to influence and collaborate without direct authority, build strong stakeholder relationships, communicate effectively, and drive accountability for project deliverables.

Comfortable working in ambiguous and dynamic environments, with the ability to adapt plans, prioritize effectively, and maintain momentum as priorities change.

Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and standardize ways of working within assigned areas.

Strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and time-management skills, with a high level of attention to detail and ownership.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends, and travel to event sites as needed.
Skills:

Experience with Agile project management methodology.

Excellent communicator and problem solver with organizational and time-management skills - self-motivated, high-energy, adaptable, resourceful, and results-oriented; able to work in both a team environment and independently.

Ability to organize and manage complex event-related marketing projects that may at times be ambiguous with multiple interdependencies and a variety of stakeholders.

Proven success in organizing and standardizing ways of working for dynamic teams.

Experience working with a wide network of partners in event execution on a global team.

Must have working experience with Google Suite and project management software (e.g., Wrike, Smartsheet, Monday.com, Asana, etc.) and AI tools (e.g., Google Gemini, NotebookLM, etc.)

Working knowledge of event management software (e.g., Cvent) and marketing automation and CRM platforms (e.g., Eloqua, Salesforce, Outreach) a plus.
The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position located in New York is $79,500-$106,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
