About the Team:

You're a strategic, execution-oriented Sales Enablement leader to lead global sales enablement for our Life Science Engagement strategy. You will empower the sales team with the skills, playbooks, and assets needed to shorten sales cycles, accelerate pipeline velocity, and achieve revenue goals. You will oversee all aspects of field enablement, sales onboarding, ongoing sales communications, and the execution of annual sales kick-offs.

You're a collaborator who can partner with senior executives and sales leadership while establishing a service-oriented mindset across your team.

This role reports into the Sr. Director of GTM Strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Field Enablement: Architect and lead global, scalable enablement strategies that build consulting, discovery, and value-based enterprise solution-selling capabilities across the field sales organization.
  • Team Leadership & People Management: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of sales enablement professionals. Establish a culture of accountability, provide ongoing professional development, and align team goals with company revenue goals.
  • Onboarding & Continuous Learning: Design, implement, and improve a comprehensive sales onboarding journey; establish structured milestone tracking and manager check-ins to measure and accelerate time-to-productivity for new hires.
  • Annual Sales Kick-Offs (SKO) & Corporate Events: Lead the strategic narrative, content curation, production execution for the annual sales kick-off and high-priority enablement events.
  • Sales Communications & Content: Oversee the strategy for sales communications and project updates, ensuring necessary organizational plans connect cleanly into an impactful, clear narrative for the sales team.
  • Partnerships: Partner with Sales Leadership, Product Management, Product Marketing, Operations, and Talent teams to improve technical features into customer capabilities and ensure enablement matches the product roadmap.
  • Analytics & Performance Management: Define and report on key success metrics (e.g., content adoption, pipeline velocity, revenue impact) to provide data-driven insights, course-correct initiatives, and maximize ROI.
  • Modern Learning Stack & Gamification: Manage and increase the internal enablement technology platforms (LMS/CRM) to deliver peer-to-peer learning, playbooks, workshops, deal coaching, and gamified tracking.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: 10+ years of professional experience, with 5–10 years dedicated to Sales Enablement leadership roles.
  • Direct quota-carrying B2B sales experience ideal.
  • Strategic Communication: Master storyteller with executive-level presence, able to summarize complex, multi-solution capabilities into engaging, interactive presentations and curricula.
  • Leadership & Influence: By example, inspire a team, and manage up and across a matrixed executive leadership environment.
  • Program & Project Management: History of managing large-scale, concurrent projects, hitting deadlines, and aligning distributed teams.
  • Analytical Rigor: Expert in tying enablement activities directly to sales performance metrics and revenue outcomes.
  • SaaS Ecosystem Knowledge: Deep familiarity with software sales cycles, opportunity management, value mapping, and hands-on experience with tools like Salesforce CRM.
  • Education: BA/BS degree or equivalent relevant experience.

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in [city, state]. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than Ny,NY may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $157,500-$210,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
