About the Team:
We are seeking a visionary and experienced SVP, Product to lead our product management organization focussed on transforming high-performing teams in an age of AI across our clinical trials platform. Reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, you will be setting the product vision and driving the roadmap that accelerates customer value, improves patient experience, and drives growth and adoption of our core product pillars.
This is a high-impact leadership role at a pivotal moment for Medidata. As AI reshapes how clinical trials and life sciences companies explore and understand information, interact with workflows, and make decisions, you will help define the future of the Medidata platform. You will shape how AI-powered experiences come to life and deliver a clear impact for patients, customers, and our business.
The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of product management fundamentals and methodologies and demonstrated track record of growing ARR through product innovation and a relentless focus on customer experience. They will have a strong track record of building and developing high-performing global teams - fostering a strong product mindset centered on customer value, adoption, and measurable outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Lead and Develop the Product Team: Build, manage, and mentor a global team of Product Managers cultivating a high-performing product culture centered on customer value and adoption and embracing AI to create speed, agility and insights across product development processes.
Define the Vision and Strategy: Define the holistic multi-year product strategy and near-term roadmap, that reshapes how clinical professionals and patients coduct clinical research to bring new novel treatments to market.
Champion an AI-Forward Experience: Lead the transformation to AI powered experiences, ensuring that Medidata’s key products and agents are delivered with high quality, speed, and contextual relevance.
Operate as a True Partner: Build a strong Product–Strategy–Engineering partnership, bringing perspectives together early and in new ways to accelerate concept to delivery. Co-own discovery, problem framing, solution design, and delivery to ensure the Medidata platform reflects deep industry and scientific understanding together with high-quality execution.
Drive Commercial Impact: Ensure the Medidata platform and AI powered experiences and agents provide meaningful, measurable, and growing ROI for the business. Partner with Sales. Services, and Customer Success to integrate into campaigns, implementations, and day to day operations to support retention, consumption, and value.
Govern Platform Compliance: Own release governance and platform compliance ensuring the Medidata platform and all offerings meets the security, regulatory, and accessibility standards required of a regulated-industry clinical trial and life sciences platform.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in product management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (e.g., VP/Head of Product).
- Master’s degree or PhD in a scientific, medical, or technical discipline (e.g., Computer Science, Biology, Public Health).
- Proven success in building, launching, and scaling enterprise SaaS/PaaS platforms that serve highly regulated customers.
- Expertise in product management designing and delivery technology in highly regulated global industries is a must
- Exceptional leadership skills, with experience managing and mentoring a team of product managers, owners, and designers.
Preferred Experience
- Experience with Data Governance and the application of AI/Machine Learning in clinical data analysis.
- Proven ability to manage products that cater to multiple personas: scientific researchers, clinical
- Experience within the Life Sciences, MedTech, Pharmaceutical, or Clinical Research industries is a plus.
As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region.
The salary range for positions that will be physically based in New York is $252,750- $337,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
