3DExperience Lab

The 3DExperience Lab is Dassault Systèmes´ accelerator program for startups and aims to facilitate and nurture disruptive product innovation across the following themes: City, Life, and Lifestyle. The program lets companies access the 3DExperience platform, technical skills, and mentoring, as well as support during industrialization, product launch and support to increase international presence.

The 3DExperience platform gives access to a complete suite of industry-leading solutions on a single, cloud-based platform to increase collaboration, improve execution, and accelerate innovation. The solutions support design and engineering, manufacturing and production, simulation, governance and collaboration, and marketing. With four Labs in France, the United States, India, and Germany, this program has supported almost 60 companies across the world to date.

BrainSightAI

BrainSightAI, founded by Laina Emmanuel and Rimjhim Agrawal, creates AI-based diagnostic tools that help in functional investigation of the brain. These tools can aid neurosurgeons, psychiatrists, and neurologists in planning surgeries better, diagnosing disorders like dementia earlier, and aiding in the diagnosis of mental disorders using MRI scans.

“One in six people suffer from brain-related disorders around the world—at a projected economic cost of $16.3 trillion to the world between now and 2030. That’s a higher cost than cancer and even chronic respiratory diseases. Brain-related disorders are often a race against time, and long-term hospitalization rates are high.”

– Laina Emmanuel, BrainSightAI’s CEO and co-founder

BrainSightAI’s AI-powered software, VoxelBox, empowers doctors with connectomic (functional and structural) reports in a matter of hours. It first does detailed MRI processing and analysis, using state-of-the-art methods for cleaning and producing processed MRI, and then uses machine learning to identify patterns for different disorders. The investigation reports enable faster confirmation of clinical impressions and decision support for treatment planning with rich analyses and visualization.

Collaboration with Medidata

Last year marked the beginning of BrainSightAI’s collaboration with Medidata. BrainSightAI is leveraging Medidata Rave EDC (electronic data capture) and Rave Imaging. The Medidata platform is being used to conduct the clinical evaluation of their solution and to enable researchers who are developing connectomics-based research studies to conduct industry-grade studies. The first study in dementia is underway, to be followed by two other studies.

Medidata’s Rave EDC is the most advanced, robust, and secure EDC system for clinical trial site, patient, and lab data capture and management. BrainSightAI was new to Rave EDC, but the study build was straightforward. Rave EDC is integrated with Rave Imaging (selected data points are pushed to the imaging application). Rave Imaging provides cloud-based, secure management for all medical imaging tasks in an innovative and intuitive system. BrainSightAI required a compatible, cloud-based clinical trial imaging solution to establish ongoing communication between their servers and the hosting platform.

Medidata’s solutions are integrated with BrainSightAI’s Voxelbox to safely collect data and transfer functional MRI from selected hospitals. Rave Imaging is also used to send back the pre-processing output and PDF report (from Voxelbox) to the radiologists. The integration of these Medidata solutions is helping BrainSightAI streamline workflow and communication with hospitals.

BrainSightAI said, “We are thrilled to announce our collaboration with Medidata Solutions, the world’s leading clinical trials management system. Our tool, Voxelbox, is now integrated with Medidata’s Rave EDC and Rave Imaging platform making it secure for patient data ingestion and analysis.”
