About the Team:
The Director of FP&A – Asia-Pacific is responsible for leading all financial planning, analysis, and business partnering activities across Medidata functions. This role provides thought leadership, strategic insights, and financial governance to drive business performance and accelerate regional revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
Regional Leadership & Strategy
- Partner with the APAC General Manager and regional leadership team to translate business strategies into actionable financial plans and measurable outcomes.
- Lead the regional budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes, ensuring alignment with global objectives.
- Provide strategic financial insights to support market expansion, investment prioritization, and resource management
- Act as the strategic liaison between regional operations and global FP&A, ensuring cohesive financial planning across functions and geographies.
Financial Analysis & Performance Management
- Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual performance analysis for revenue, bookings, margins, and expenses across APAC markets.
- Drive deeper insights into key SaaS metrics — MRR, renewal, churn, pipeline conversion, margin trends, and cash flow.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency through process optimization and financial discipline.
- Support scenario modeling and business cases for new initiatives, market entries, and partnership opportunities.
Business Partnering
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Revenue Ops, Marketing, etc. to evaluate performance and shape strategic initiatives.
- Serve as a trusted financial advisor to business leaders, helping bridge data-driven insights with commercial and operational decision-making.
- Drive continuous improvement through simplification, automation, and process standardization.
- Champion diversity, collaboration, and professional development within the finance organization.
Qualifications:
- Education in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA or ACCA preferred.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or strategic finance, with at least 5 years in a regional leadership role.
- Proven experience within SaaS, software, or life sciences technology organizations.
- Deep understanding of revenue forecasting, subscription metrics, and multi-entity financial consolidation.
- Strong background in APAC financial management, including multiple currencies, tax implications, and localized reporting standards.
- Exceptional strategic thinking and analytical problem-solving.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management, capable of influencing across functions and levels.
- Advanced skill in FP&A systems and modeling tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel).
- Ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, multinational environment.
- Fluency in both Mandarin and English is mandatory.
