Medidata’s AI-Powered Protocol Optimization Secures 4th Consecutive “Best of Show” Award at SCOPE 2026
AI-powered advancement in clinical research takes top honor at industry’s most important event
New York – February 4, 2026 – Medidata, a Dassault Systèmes brand and leading provider of clinical trial solutions to the life sciences industry, has been honored with the "Best of Show" award at the annual Summit for Clinical Ops Executives (SCOPE). The award recognizes Medidata Protocol Optimization as a transformative AI-powered advancement in clinical research.
Launched in May 2025, Medidata Protocol Optimization is a flagship component of the unified Medidata Study Experience. It transforms clinical trial design and execution by leveraging AI-driven predictive modeling, digital protocols, and industry-leading aggregated data to simulate trial performance. This solution has the ability to predict the impact on patient burden, site performance, and costs well in advance of the First Patient In (FPI), resulting in research teams gaining critical foresight into potential challenges. This approach significantly decreases costly amendments and enrollment delays, leading to smoother and lower cost trials.
“Winning this award is a testament to the impact of the power of AI across the platform,” said Tom Doyle, chief technology officer, Medidata. “The recognition by SCOPE 2026 validates our strategy of powering smarter treatments by building a unified, data-driven ecosystem embedding AI technology to solve pressing challenges facing clinical operations today.”
The award builds on Medidata’s multi-year legacy of leadership at SCOPE. This year's 'Best of Show' win marks the fourth consecutive year Medidata has taken home the top prize, following the 2025 recognition for Medidata Clinical Data Studio; the 2024 award for the Medidata Diversity Program; and the 2023 accolade for the myMedidata app, part of the Patient Experience. This consistent recognition, which includes the inaugural 2024 Site Innovation Award for Medidata Rave Companion and the 2021 Participant Engagement Award for Patient Centricity by Design, underscores Medidata’s unrivaled commitment to driving the digital evolution of clinical research.
