About the Team:

Medidata's Strategy & Transformation team works with our clients to analyze and improve existing workflows to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase overall performance. By identifying bottlenecks, redundancies, and inefficiencies, organizations can streamline operations, improve quality, and lower costs. This often includes leveraging technology, redefining roles, and implementing best practices to ensure that processes align with business goals and deliver maximum value. Effective process optimization not only boosts productivity but also supports scalability, agility, and long-term competitiveness.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex, high-impact projects across cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing end-to-end project lifecycles, delivering results on time and within budget, and driving strategic business initiatives. You will play a critical role in aligning project outcomes with organizational goals while managing risks, timelines, and stakeholder communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage multiple large-scale projects from initiation to closure.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful completion.
  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate project meetings, presentations, and reviews.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and collaboration across departments.
  • Drive adherence to PMO standards, project governance, and best practices.
  • Mentor and support junior project managers or project coordinators, as needed.
  • Manage third-party vendors and contractors when applicable.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (Master's preferred).
  • 7+ years of project management experience, preferably in [industry: e.g., IT, healthcare, construction, finance].
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification required.
  • Proven experience managing enterprise-level projects and portfolios.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
  • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Smartsheet, Asana).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with change management and organizational transformation.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and financial analysis.
  • Experience working in a matrixed

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $114,750 to $153,000. 

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is $121,500 to $162,000.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $113,250 to $151,000 .

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $101,250 to $135,000.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $102,750 to $137,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
