About the Team:
The APAC Commercial Finance Business Operation Director will play a pivotal role in driving financial strategy and operational excellence across the region to maximize the financial benefits for the company, including planning, negotiation with the governments on incentives and work with cross functions teams to ensure the execution fully comply with both internal and external requirement. This leadership role focuses on cross-functional collaboration to maximize corporate benefit with highest standard on compliance for accounting, tax and treasury. The role encompasses strategic engagement with both internal and external key stakeholders, including pricing strategies, tax and invoicing compliance, accounts receivable, while supporting the broader company strategy through engaging with key Gov. functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance operations, govern officer engagement with excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic environment with 25 years + of experience in finance operations, especially tax.
Responsibilities:
External engagement:
• Develop and maintain strategic relationship with key external stakeholders, especially with gov. and tax bureau.
• Comprehensive understanding of policies on government incentives or financial subsidy.
• Identify the area that corporate can work with related bureaus on company incentives as per the guideline issued by government.
• Regular interlock with key stakeholders to ensure process and rules are fully complied.
Strategic Financial Leadership:
• Identify and lead finance initiatives and projects to capture related incentives opportunities best benefit company based on government rule and policies.
• Deep understanding on financial rules include tax, accounting, treasury and related policies, associate related benefit with finance requirement to ensure full compliance;
• Communicate findings effectively to stakeholders, translating complex policies and rules into financial opportunities.
• Work closely with regional and global teams to align financial goals with operational strategies.
Tax and Compliance:
• Oversee all income, VAT, and other tax filings for the region, ensuring compliance with applicable tax jurisdictions.
• Collaboration with the accounting and tax organization to ensure and support the company meets all statutory and regulatory requirements within the region.
• Act as the primary representative for government bodies and collaborate with the tax and accounting organization to ensure compliance, especially on the related incentives.
Continuous Improvement:
• Maintain good relationship with both internal and external key stakeholders.
• Optimize finance processes and rules according to the latest government policy requirements and ensure full compliance.
• Participate in system implementations (ERP) and policy development, especially tax related.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (MBA/CPA preferred), strong knowledge on tax with experience dealing with tax bureau and related government functions.
• 25+ years of progressive experience in Finance roles, able to associate government incentive with internal finance requirement and compliance.
• Fluency in both Mandarin and English is mandatory.
• Proven international company experience, preferably in a matrixed, multinational organization.
• Strong understanding of government incentive policies, financial principles, operational models, and market dynamics within the APAC region – specifically in China.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
