About the Team:

The Brand Strategy & Campaigns team shapes the narrative that defines Medidata's leadership in life sciences. As Brand Strategy & Campaigns Director, you will help articulate the role of brand at Medidata, elevating awareness, strengthening perception, and creating a cohesive brand experience across every touchpoint. Reporting to the Senior Director of Brand Strategy & Campaigns, you will develop and activate strategies that champion Medidata's position as an innovator, reinforce the value of our Life Science Engagement (LSE) portfolio, and set the foundation for downstream growth marketing.

Responsibilities:

Brand & Campaign Strategy (Most Critical)

  • Develop end-to-end brand and campaign strategies that inspire creative development, drive cohesion across efforts, and deliver measurable business and brand outcomes.
  • Conduct market, competitor, audience, and cultural research to build an insight-led point of view that informs all strategic decisions.
  • Lead the development of messaging frameworks, channel plans, and marketing calendars. Partner with content, product, and growth marketing to ensure unified, compelling storytelling.
  • Collaborate with creative teams and external agencies to ideate and co-create campaign assets—including hero ads, landing pages, white papers, videos, and digital content.
  • Drive adoption of brand and marketing best practices across the organization.
  • Build strong partnerships across Growth Marketing, Product Marketing, Digital, Social, Events, PR, and with agency partners.
  • Influence and align stakeholders on strategic direction, campaign priorities, and narrative clarity.
  • Monitor brand and campaign KPIs—awareness, perception, engagement, pipeline influence—and optimize strategies based on performance.

Qualifications:

  • 10 -12 years of brand strategy experience, in-house or agency, with demonstrated impact on brand growth and perception. At least 2-3 years strategy experience on B2B brands, ideally within tech, SaaS, healthcare, or life sciences.
  • Proven ability to translate research and insights into actionable brand and campaign strategies.
  • Strong storytelling capability, with experience shaping narratives and content that drive emotional and rational connection.
  • Exceptional collaboration, communication, and relationship-building skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects independently, manage multiple workstreams, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position located in New York is $120,750-$161,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
