About the Team:

You will report to the Client Services Principal who oversees West Coast Medical Device & Pharmaceutical clients. We are primarily a remote team, based on the West Coast. You will work remotely unless you live near one of our offices. You will travel to our local California and New York offices, and to assigned clients when applicable. As a Director, you will manage team members and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities primarily fall into three categories; Revenue, Client Satisfaction, People & Process

Revenue:

  • Identify new business opportunities within assigned accounts
  • Manage full scope of project and financials (including forecasting, project budget, and accuracy of invoicing)
  • Support development of sales orders and change orders

Oversee all financial aspects for clients assigned to your teamClient Satisfaction:

  • Participate in program governance, and manage the professional services relationship
  • Ensure overall client satisfaction through proactive management
  • Lead client and internal meetings ensuring prompt and appropriate follow-up
  • Manage issues and guide resolution
  • Oversee risk mitigation and contingency planning
  • Deliver workshops

Oversee all aspects of clients and projects assigned to your team People & Process:

  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to achieve defined goals / objectives
  • Produce accurate and current project documentation
  • Assure compliance with Medidata's standard project management methodologies, quality management system
  • Manage a team of three to five project managers
  • Coach new and junior team members· Identify process improvements and guide strategy adoption

Qualifications:

  • Work independently in a remote workplace
  • Act in an advisory capacity
  • Ability to anticipate and mitigate complex issue and risks thus minimizing escalations
  • Ability to manage all aspects of direct reports
  • mentor other team members and serve as a team leader
  • Ability to identify and suggest improvements which increase the value proposition for Medidata and the client
  • Knowledge of Medidata (or similar) products
  • Have an all inclusive understanding of clinical research (pharma/device/biotech) and of clinical research SaaS technology
  • Experience solidly communicating to internal and external customers (both verbal and written)
  • Experience prioritizing tasks and opportunities
  • Experience leading project teams through collaboration, teamwork, and meeting defined timelines
  • Experience creating and delivering presentations competently with current software technologies

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. 

  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is  $135,000.00 to $180,000.00
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the San Francisco, CA area  is $141,750.00 to 189,000.00
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $132,750.00 to 177,000.00
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $118,500.00 to 158,000.00
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $120,750.00 to $161,000.00

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
