About the Team:
he Strategic Solution Sales team members act as product/domain experts for specific components of the Medidata Clinical Cloud. Our expertise is leveraged by Account Managers at key inflection points in the sales cycle. Beyond driving incremental revenue for the organization, we set the dialogue in the marketplace for the Medidata Clinical Cloud by working in concert with R&D, Marketing (Field & Product), Market Development, Inside Sales, Professional Services and Value Engineering. The Solution Sales Specialist, Data Experience, will shape and help execute Medidata's go-to-market strategy for the Data Experience Suite. This role reports to the Managing Partner for Enterprise Medtech sales.
As a Solution Sales Specialist for Data Experience, you will be responsible for shaping and executing Medidata's strategy around our comprehensive suite of data solutions. You will be the domain expert for the Medidata Data Experience—a suite of solutions powered by AI and advanced analytics to seamlessly connect workflows, data, and teams.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve a quarterly and annual sales target by driving incremental revenue for the Medidata Data Experience solutions.
- Responsible for achieving your quarterly/annual sales target.
- Collaborate with Account Managers to execute sales strategies, presenting and evangelizing the value of Medidata's end-to-end solutions to Sponsors
- Use competitive intelligence to understand client needs and align our Data Experience solutions to help them achieve their strategic goals.
- Work with Pre-Sales, Marketing, and Product teams to qualify opportunities, build pipeline, and increase market share.
- Progress identified Data Experience opportunities through the sales cycle
- Provide subject matter expertise to support marketing activities, including webinars, white papers, and conference presentations.
- Develop and deliver training to scale knowledge of the Data Experience solution area across the direct sales force and partner teams.
Qualifications:
- Sales experience in the biopharma, life sciences, or CRO industry with a strong track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets. Selling experience and understanding of SaaS sales cycles
- Strong knowledge of the biopharmaceutical clinical trials R&D process
- Strong understanding of or past experience working within Clinical Operations.
- Experience managing relationships with customers and partners at a senior management and director level
- Perform qualification and discovery with new clients to drive pipeline growth by identifying scientific and business value for the client
- Experience discerning whether a prospect is a good fit for a product based on discovery conversations, strategically, and tactically to solve complex
- Experience establishing communication and engagement with prospects
- Comfort with sustained business travel of 30-50% (will vary by quarter)
- Experience with sales forecasting, pipeline management, quarterly goal attainment, territory plan development
- Bachelor's Degree in the Life Sciences, Engineering or Computer Science-focused discipline or equivalent experience
The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $135,000-$155,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
