About the Role:

We are looking for a Senior Pricing Strategist to lead the development of transformative pricing strategies that shape the future of our business. This is a high-impact, thought leadership role focused on designing next-generation pricing models, value-based frameworks, and long-term pricing strategy.

The ideal candidate will bring vision, cross-functional influence, and deep pricing expertise to partner with product, sales, offering management, and executive leaders in driving pricing transformation across the company.

Key Responsibilities:

·Design future-state pricing strategies and models that support growth, market competitiveness, and customer value alignment.

· Lead pricing transformation initiatives that modernize pricing structures and position the company for long-term success.

· Serve as a trusted cross-functional partner to Product, Offering Management, Sales, and Finance on pricing decisions.

· Build competitive pricing strategies for new offerings, bundling, and complex commercial models.

·Develop pricing frameworks that enable innovation, scalability, and profitability.

· Provide thought leadership and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and pricing governance boards.

· Collaborate with external partners (e.g., McKinsey) to integrate best-in-class pricing practices.

· Support the development of pricing maturity and strategic capabilities across the organization.

Qualifications:

·  8–12+ years of experience in pricing strategy, commercial strategy, or related roles in SaaS, technology, or life sciences.

· Deep expertise in pricing model design, value-based pricing, and strategic pricing frameworks.

· Proven ability to set pricing direction and influence executive-level stakeholders.

· Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

· Experience collaborating with top management consulting firms is a plus.

· MBA or advanced degree preferred.

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. 

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $157,500.00 to 210,000.00

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
