The Programme

Medidata are looking to hire 4 Associate Implementation Consultant Apprentices within our Professional Services team to start in September 2022. 

By joining as an Apprentice, you will work alongside other experienced employees on clinical trial implementation assignments delivering projects to our world leading customers.

Targeted as a 3 year program, you'll get feedback every step along the way along with coaching, training and support to help you achieve your long-term Medidata career goals. 

During your first 13 months you will also work towards gaining a Data Technician Level 3 qualification by following the Digital Business Accelerator Programme via our Apprenticeship provider Multiverse

In the workplace, you will learn about Medidata and our place in Clinical Trials and Technology and be at the digital cutting edge of clinical trials and the technology that powers Our Mission : Powering smarter treatments and healthier people

After the initial 13 month period of work experience and Multiverse training, you will transition into a role as an Associate Implementation Consultant beginning a series of rotations in other teams and departments to  gain knowledge about the life sciences industry and Medidata’s place within the industry.

We believe this 3 year structured approach will give you the foundations needed to build a career in Professional Services, that could potentially open up a number of different career paths such as Implementation Consulting, Project Management, Technical Specialist.

The position is based out of our EMEA Headquarters offices in Hammersmith, London.


Your Mission: 

As an Associate Implementation Consultants (AICs) you will work with and support Implementation Consultants (ICs), with Project Managers, other Medidata teams and customers to implement and configure Medidata’s software applications for clinical studies.

  • Support ICs in configuring or enabling customers on Medidata software to translate customer needs and meet customer requirements.
  • Adhere to or educate on best practices for implementing Medidata’s software.
  • Contribute to, author, adapt or agree on specifications based upon client requirements.  This can include functional test cases for use in configuring and developing solutions in Medidata’s suite of products, as well as in custom integrations.
  • Support developers and other cross functional departments during configuration or implementation of specifications.
  • Support cross functional departments with issue resolution.
  • Shadow and work towards the delivery of in-person/remote client workshops.
  • Work to meet Project Management timelines and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
  • Support customers during enablement or implementation of our software by answering questions, resolving configuration or UAT issues, and providing guidance on software usage
  • Adhere to industry data collection and handling standards to ensure consistency and facilitate downstream processing (e.g., QC testing).
  • Communicate status reports to stakeholders on both client and internal projects.
  • Participate in internal initiatives, eg. process improvement, product improvement, and identifying best practices.
  • Comply with and enforce Medidata Standard Operating Procedures, processes and policies.



Your Competencies: 

  • Knowledge of computer usage in a web-based environment
  • Ability to absorb and apply new information quickly

  • Solid analytical and technical skills with regard to software applications (as a school leaver?)
  • Strong team-building skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Self-motivated, willing to assume responsibility and develop as a professional
  • Willing to travel to office locations and customer engagements as required

Your Qualifications

  • Strong basket of GCSE’s
  • Studying and tracking towards A-levels or BTech qualifications in a range of subjects (science and/or IT focused preferred)
