Your Mission:

The Commercial FP&A Director will be the Finance Business Partner to the new Life Science Experience (LSE) business at Dassault.

The Commercial FP&A Director will help to build out a new finance function to support the LSE business. The Director will be responsible for partnering with business leaders on planning, forecasting and quarterly plan vs. actual performance analysis, analyzing business performance/drivers and key metrics, coordinating with other Finance team members to drive the monthly closing and revenue reporting process. The successful candidate will also provide analytical support and is expected to understand financial principles, develop a working knowledge of business operations and will also help provide analysis that will compel management to make informed decisions.

  • Work with VP Commercial Finance to build new LSE Finance function to support  commercial deals, provide forecast insights to leaders, provide analysis and insights that help drive business decisions that fuel future growth
  • Manage and develop 1 direct report
  • Build strong, collaborative partnerships with LSE leaders 
  • Lead the planning and forecasting activities LSE revenue
  • Ensure annual plans are realistic and align
  • Ensure periodic forecasts are predictive and insightful, to allow management to make decisions to meet the company’s business and financial objectives.
  • Independently drive enhancement of FP&A processes, including 6Yr long-range P&L
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with all stakeholders including internal (Medidata) and external (3DS)
  • Ad hoc projects

Your Competencies:

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Track record of collaborative partnership with peers and business partners, including senior management.
  • Must possess strong FP&A, accounting, and financial modeling skills.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to use financial data to develop relevant insights and influence decision making.
  • Demonstrated drive for continuous process improvement.
  • Ability to independently work on complex assignments/projects and drive cross-functional teams towards project objectives.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible while balancing multiple and diverse requests with competing deadlines.
  • Exposure to subscription-based, professional services, and/or fast growing technology business preferred.


Undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting or Finance required.


  • Minimum 10 years of experience: FP&A, Transaction services, consulting, investment banking
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Track record of collaborative partnership with peers and business partners, including senior management.

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City.  As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.  Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $150,000 - $185,000
