Your Mission:
The Director of Analyst Relations is responsible for helping manage the relationship between Medidata and industry analyst researchers, their research and their firms, including Gartner, Forrester, IDC, Everest, and others. Analyst Relations (AR) plays a significant role in Medidata’s industry strategy team in leveraging analysts as a “voice of the customer” in strategic planning and decisions, research placement, and analyst interactions at events, through briefings and inquiries and interactive strategy sessions. The position collaborates with many stakeholders within the business to develop and execute analyst communication strategies and ensure that Medidata is reflected the most positively in the eyes of analyst influencers.
Your Commitments:
Leadership:
Assume a proactive and positive leadership role for interactions with industry analysts.
Manages the process in all AR initiatives and guides them to completion.
Supports the objectives and KPIs for the AR function to establish techniques for measurement and optimization.
The individual also plays a key role in creating and developing annual strategic AR plans for the business and executes key elements of the plan while simultaneously providing guidelines, tools, templates, and role delegation for elements to be executed in the plans.
Performs day to day AR leadership functions and provides guidance to team members among business stakeholders. Helps establish and follows up on the department’s strategic direction, as well as defining priorities and coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
Strategy and Analytics:
The Director of Analyst Relations is responsible for helping create a business-wide AR strategy that aligns with the goals of all senior leadership team members within the business. This is to ensure that every department in the business is represented and supported effectively to/with analysts.
In addition, this role regularly assesses the effectiveness of the business’s AR Programs and puts in place measures that will create awareness and momentum as well as test the effectiveness of AR activities in the business.
Opportunities/Innovation:
Growing the capability and identifying other areas of opportunities. It is also the individual’s objective to challenge the status quo of the business and seek out new creative and innovative ways and opportunities for elevating the business’s brand.
In this capacity, this individual also identifies and promotes newsworthy stories and topics of interest on the business’s behalf ahead of the curve, which establishes the business as thought leader, increasing the business’s popularity with the audience.
Building Relationships:
The AR Director is also tasked with building relationships with appropriate members of the leadership team and other key stakeholders, also contributing messaging for topics including policy, culture, initiatives, and other areas of strategic corporate significance as directed by executive leaders.
The AR Director works directly with executives and business leaders to identify needs, objectives, and strategies to create effective and meaningful analyst interactions, through briefings, inquiries, analyst and industry events, and strategy sessions.
Collaborations:
Expected to play an integrated role both within the global Medidata/LSE team and the business functions (stakeholders). This role is highly collaborative and works cross-functionally with numerous departments of the business.
Proactively partners with other leaders in the business and key stakeholders in the development of the analyst initiatives and interactions aimed at positively impacting the business and its brand.
Required Experience:
The Director of Analyst Relations must have least eight years experience working in an AR leadership position of a business where duties involved the management of AR programs for the purpose of advancing a business’s goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will also have proven experience in leading the execution of communications strategies.

Your Education & Background:
Requires a minimum of eight years of experience on an AR team for a medium or large organization in the technology space.
Bachelor’s degree required; preferably in business, IT, journalism, communications, public relations or marketing. A Master’s degree is a plus.
Experience in writing for a variety of different audiences is essential.
Prior management of complex projects and advising senior managers is highly desired.
Understanding of the life sciences industry is a plus.
The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $135,000 to $180,000.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
