The Commercial Financial Analyst will provide business support for Medidata’s partnerships with Clinical Research Organization (CROs). Key responsibilities include contract consumption tracking, commercial business support, reporting and analysis and support monthly closing activities. This team member will also provide reporting information to external and internal customers as well as assist in the resolution of billing and consumption related inquiries.

  • Support contract financial performance tracking for global partner relationships including data entry, accounting support and reporting 
  • Assist in ensuring billing/consumption information is entered accurately within the systems used for tracking 
  • Provide billing/consumption related reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Execute monthly pro forma invoicing process for key contracts and customers 
  • Perform research to resolve both internal and external customer questions regarding invoicing/consumption and other contract-related questions
  • Manage day to day Ad-Hoc requests and identify ownership for resolution with internal and external business partners
  • Support commercial transaction process on ad hoc basis

Your Competencies:

  • Proficiency with office automation software (MS Office Suite)
  • Prior system experience using Salesforce, Workday, Tableau or other financial and Business Information Systems a plus
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
  • Ability to work with dynamic concepts and work independently 
  • Excellent problem diagnosis and analytical skills
  • Ability to be adaptable and flexible while responding to deadlines on assignments and workflow fluctuations
  • Computer literacy with regards to accounting systems and data consolidation systems
  • Must be able to work in our NYC office 2 days per week
  • 1-3 years related experience
  •  Strong attention to detail 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment
  • Understanding the importance of internal controls and segregation of duties.

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $55,000 - $75,000.
