This role is a newly created position that will be based in Medidata’s Global headquarters in New York City and report to the Director, Accounting Systems and Processes. The Analyst will support maintaining our Workday footprint and serve as a crucial support resource for members across the Finance team, addressing system challenges and questions.
System & Process Optimization
Maintain & develop financial systems process documentations and implement best practices, to ensure scalability and validate system accuracy.
Translate complex business processes into workable system requirements and solutions by managing the testing, implementation and maintenance of such solutions.
Support internal and external audits, ensuring data integrity and timeliness.
Support end-users working in our Workday Financial systems by creating and maintaining existing security roles, and provide new users access to different components of the tool.
Maintain strong professional relationships with the Project Billing, Revenue Recognition, HR, FP&A, Tax, Procurement, Accounting and Account Payable Teams by analyzing and gathering business requirements, translate them into functional and technical designs, and implement relevant solutions within Workday Financials.
Partner with and provide system support and training for Finance to ensure user fluency and continuously meet ever changing business requirements.
Maintain, enhance, and continuously rationalize the existing management reporting library while partnering with our finance teams, to maintain and build new custom reports (Delivered, Composite, Matrix, Studio, BIRT, Dashboards and other advanced reporting).
An understanding of key financial business processes and data flow across Revenue Recognition, Procure-to-Pay, Accounts Payable, Accounting, Billing, Collections, Planning and Reporting.
Effective verbal and written communicator who takes initiatives and has the ability to translate and present complex issues and solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences to gain process efficiency & improve data integrity.
Support the ongoing development, maintenance and administration of our ERP system while serving as a Finance department software product specialist.
Self-starter with organizational, analytical, problem-solving skills and time management skills and be able to meet deadlines; must be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with competing deadlines while having the ability to be adaptable and flexible.
Your Education & Experience:
Minimum of 2 years Workday experience including Workday Financials (with focus on Revenue and Billing preferred but not required).
Undergraduate or graduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Computer Science preferred but not required; or equivalent work experience including but not limited to maintaining systems..
