About the Team:

The Global Client Executive (GCE) owns the global leadership of one or more of Medidata's most important life sciences customers. You will consider yourself the virtual CEO of these accounts and will work closely with internal and customer C-suite and the supporting functions across the pharma value-chain. The GCE is responsible for successful value delivery and customer satisfaction of all Medidata products, services and support worldwide.

You will report into the Managing Partner for EMEA Enterprise Sales.


Achieve sales and account growth objectives in named accounts including identifying and qualifying platform growth opportunities, and efficiently leveraging resources in order to bring opportunities to successful conclusion. Responsible for maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction - consistent with Medidata business principals.

  • Consistent attainment of all revenue and booking targets within assigned accounts
  • Development and execution of strategic global account plans
  • You will represent Medidata in the field in a manner consistent with company principles
  • You will need to be effective collaborating within sales and other departments
  • You will maintain and update account and opportunity data within company systems as directed, including
  • Quarterly and/or annual sales targets are covered under a separate document)


  • Track record in driving large/mid-size account growth and exceeding sales targets
  • You will be able to demonstrate success in strategic account development at an enterprise level
  • C-level engagement
  • Demonstrated track record in achieving new product/services sales growth
  • Life sciences and/or application software sales experience
  • A passion for the life sciences industry
  • You will have a good grasp of consultative selling principles
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Strong track record of success in exceeding yearly sales targets
  • Strong understanding/experience of solution/consultative sales techniques

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
