Our team:
This position is for Patient Cloud team working on the patient facing technologies. This team is working on the latest tools and technologies developing a next generation SaaS solutions and native mobile apps.

Who We Are Looking for:
We are seeking a seasoned senior level Mobile Engineer to help Medidata create amazing, cloud based, high performing mobile applications for our suite of products. The software you will build will be used to help our clients create life changing drugs and medical devices. Specifically, you will work with our Patient-facing product development team which is building Medidata’s next generation web and mobile products that will revolutionize the way clinical trials are conducted.

The engineer’s responsibilities encompass the full application lifecycle from mapping business requirements to architecture, creating documentation for the technical alignment of a large organization, communicating technical designs, implementation, and ensuring the solutions can be monitored. Additionally, this engineer will take on leadership responsibilities within the team to drive the execution of rapid customer feature release.

We want engineers:

  • Who have built multiple creative and innovative solutions in iOS & Android.
  • Who have experience designing a responsive and intuitive user experience accessible to anyone
  • Who are excited about streaming large amounts of data safely, securely, and reliably through a mobile application as a part of larger distributed systems
  • Who are passionate advocates for the quality of the products they build: code quality, yes, but also the design, usability, performance, reliability ­­ all of it
  • Who work closely with product, architecture, and engineering team members to design and build services and applications that are scalable, reliable and highly available
  • Who drive and consult on the adoption of new technology that will evolve Medidata’s Platform
  • Who have demonstrated leadership on previous teams, either through direct management or as an “unofficial” leader who has inspired, motivated and coached others to continuously achieve goals and commitments
  • 5+ years building complex applications, with a strong focus on iOS and/or Android

  • iOS: Deep knowledge of Swift, comfortable with Objective­C, Objective­C++

  • Android: Deep Android & Java knowledge, Kotlin experience & enthusiasm is a plus 


  • Ability to understand and debug large and complex code bases 


  • Comfortable working with cross platform libraries written in C++

  • Experience writing and maintaining unit and integration tests

  • Deep knowledge of UI/UX best practices & design standards for iOS and Android

  • Ability to work closely with the product and design teams to customize the experience for the iOS and Android platforms

  • B.S. or M.S. Computer Science or related field

  • Bonus: Experience in life sciences industry and/or medical/clinical operations

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City / New Jersey. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than NYC / NJ, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $114,750 to $143,962.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
