Our team:
You will be a necessary member of Medidata's Patient Cloud team, building and supporting the innovative platform for the fastest growing area within Medidata. Patients depend on our products to participate in any clinical trial using web, mobile and sensor-based solutions. We focus on delivering the most enhanced patient experience possible and aim to provide engaging solutions that fit into people's everyday lives. We make clinical trials faster by reducing burdens for both patients and study personnel.

Who we are looking for:
We're looking for a Business Data Analyst to lead the development and presentation of critical business, product, strategic and operational metrics of our platform. You will work onsite from NY or New Jersey offices and you will be reporting to Director of Technology PMO.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with our Product & Engineering Teams to create and track metrics across our products and share actionable insights
  • Proactively guide the vision for data foundation and analytics to accelerate building and improvement of cross platform components
  • Propose innovative solutions by exploratory data analysis from complex and high-dimensional datasets
  • Visualize the analysis into easy-to-consume storylines for stakeholders
  • Provide business insights on what drives engagement and leverage the learnings to inform future strategies
  • Lead rollup of product roadmap and delivery metrics to our parent company
  • Creates specifications for reports and analysis based on business needs and required or available data elements. 
  • Exercises judgement in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Identified and interprets trends and patterns in datasets to locate influencers.  
  • Constructs forecasts, recommendations and strategic/tactical plans based on business data and market knowledge. 
  • 5 years of experience as data analyst or product analyst
  • Highly proficient in data analysis tools such as SQL and Python
  • Highly proficient using at least two data visualization product (eg. Tableau, QuickSight)
  • Experience with data warehouse solutions such as Snowflake or AWS Redshift is must.
  • Experience designing and informing data sets, data marts, and feature stores across multiple data sources that support varying stakeholder use cases
  • Experience presenting and communicating information to senior executive leadership
  • Bachelor's Degree or relevant work experience with enterprise solutions

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City / New Jersey. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City / New Jersey, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $114,750 to $153,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
