Reporting to the Manager Data Science Engineering, you will develop advanced cloud-native systems to extract, transform, and clean data for complex analytics and predictive models. You will create automated data flows for research and production settings with data science engineering best practices, transparency, and scalability. You will solve complex business questions where situations or data require in-depth evaluation of variable factors. You will collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, software engineers, business leaders and other partners to implement data science engineering solutions based on our priorities and technology projects.

What we're looking for:

  • Advanced skills in modern data architecture, data science engineering, data modeling and data quality using state-of-art cloud computing technologies (AWS).

  • Hands-on experience in the latest breed of ETL, orchestrated data pipelines and CICD technologies including Python, SQL and Git in a cloud setting.

  • 1+ years of experience with cloud-native data warehouse technologies like Snowflake.

  • Commitment to creating rigorous, high-quality insights from structured and unstructured data, at scale using automated data quality frameworks

  • Collaborate with all levels of data science engineering technology personnel and senior leadership.

  • Document and present work to all levels of technical and non-technical audiences.

  • You are flexible and willing to work across a matrixed delivery landscape which includes Agile product development, support, and deployment.

  • Experience collaborating with global teams to provide coaching and coding feedback aligning to develop best practices

Requirements (Education & Experience):

  • Undergraduate degree in a technical or scientific field, such as Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or similar.

  • 5+ years professional experience as a data engineer, data scientist, data analyst, or related role

  • Experience with clinical trial data is useful, and interest to learn and understand how these data improve medical research is paramount

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $114,750 to $153,362.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
