Your Mission:

Commercial Data Scientist performs various functions as we strive to help our organization take advantage of data and to make the best data-driven management decisions. The role will partner with matrixed teams to deliver projects and develop solutions that in turn deliver insights. The ideal candidate will lead the full spectrum of data analytics and data science implementations, from data querying and data wrangling to data visualization and dashboarding for business intelligence (BI), to predictive analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence as well as robotic process automation (RPA).

Your Competencies:

  • Leverage a wide range of analytics methods ranging from descriptive to prescriptive to transform high volumes of complex sales data into analytics solutions and actional insights

  • Work directly with aligned business partners in requirements definition, project scoping, study design, timeline management results documentation, and maintain effective and professional working relationship

  • Leverage your curiosity and internal and external data to identify business drivers and recommend actions to help the sales team to deliver organizational objectives

  • Collaborate with multiple cross-functional teams to identify operational barriers and issues, and facilitate their resolution

  • Create reusable implementations of statistical tests and machine learning models using the available technologies in the commercial team data ecosystem

Your Education & Experience:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in Data Science, Computer Sciences, Statistics, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, or a related discipline

  • Familiarity with large datasets, handling of healthcare-relevant datasets preferred, and understanding of data analysis workflows

  • History of solving problems, creating solutions and driving change within a team

  • Demonstrated strategic and analytical thinking

  • Ability to make decisions regarding complex technical approaches for project components

  • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills, with a proven ability to translate complex methodologies and analytical results to higher-level business insights and key takeaways

  • Advanced Technical Skills: Python/R, SQL, Salesforce

  • Experience analyzing large, complex multidimensional datasets with data querying languages (SQL)

  • Experience using Python/R to perform advanced quantitative analysis, including regression, classification, clustering, and time-series analysis

 

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is  $114,750- $153,00 

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is  $121,500- $162,000.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $113,250- $151,000.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $101,250- $135,000.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $102,750- $155,520.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work.  Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.  Medidata believes that benefits should connect you to the support you need when it matters most and provides best-in-class benefits, including medical, dental, life and disability insurance; 401(k) matching; unlimited paid time off (subject to management discretion); and 10 paid holidays per year.
