Our Team:
We build monitoring and observability solutions that provide insight into the availability and performance of our provided services. Our solutions provide observability into the Service Level Agreements (SLA) for our clients and Service Level Objectives (SLO) for our internal development teams and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of Critical Incidents (CIRT).

Who we're looking for:
A leader who is passionate about application performance, is hands-on and who likes to learn new technologies! Your primary responsibilities will include manage supervision operations, provide hands-on support of Medidata's monitoring and observability systems, engagement with development teams to implement operational observability and alerting based on Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and provide data analytics on the performance, availability and overall functionality of Medidata products. You will be part of Cloud Engineering and R&D Operations organization.

As a supervision lead of the monitoring team, you will work in an Agile environment which has standard scrums and works within a two week sprint so that work is broken into more manageable tasks and allows for shifts in direction as company needs change. You are expected to manage and deliver on the roadmap with quality and deliverables in the alloted time. You will also participate in product and service reviews and evaluations.

You will drive development teams by investigating how their applications work and providing insight into areas that may provide better observability and insight into their function and performance. You will also; maintain processes for monitoring as code, Troubleshoot, and debug defects in integrations, scripts and alert query logic using Linux shell scripts, PowerShell or Python, Design intuitive dashboards within monitoring systems and Document monitoring processes and services.

Requirements:

  • BS, CS or MIS Degree or equivalent experience in related roles
  • 10+ years professional experience with experience in Linux, Windows, Containers and AWS.
  • Extensive hands on experience with use of SolarWinds, Sumologic, Sysdig, CloudWatc

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City / New Jersey. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than NYC / NJ, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $135,000 to $180,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
