Our Team: 

Medidata is looking for individuals who will help us tackle some of the most complex questions facing the industry today using our proprietary platform and advanced analytics. At Medidata, we never work alone. This role will partner heavily with all of the key stakeholder functions including product, delivery, data science, engineering, partnerships, and biostatistics. Successful Medidata AI candidates will be skilled in analytical/quantitative thinking, structured communication, and excited about building the next horizon of Medidata’s mission to power smarter treatments and healthier people.

Who We're Looking For: 

The Platform Engineer Function is responsible for hands-on development, maintenance and support of  platform software solutions, infrastructure solutions as well  as frameworks and processes that support systems development. The Engineer is one who works effectively to resolve high impact, challenging, engineering problems while continuously raising the standards in our software engineering and systems management capabilities.

  • Proactively research Cloud services and conduct PoCs, develop solutions by consuming APIs as well as publish APIs.

  • Contribute to solution design and architecture, feasibility and viability analysis.

  • Support DevOps and CloudOps function and requirements.

  • Participate effectively in project Scrums

Requirements (Education & Experience): 

  • 5+ years of technology experience. 

  • Experience with developing solutions using at least one Infrastructure-as-Code technology in AWS like Terraform, CloudFormation,  etc.  

  • Significant experience with developing solutions using AWS services. 

  • Experience with DevOps, CloudOps functions - developing / enhancing CICD pipeline automation and robustness.

  • Experience with Container based development. 

  • Advantageous to have Kubernetes based experience or keenness and ability to learn.

  • Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting and debugging web server platforms, software and code

  • Infrastructure-as-Code solution development experience in AWS using either Terraform, CloudFormation,  etc

  • DevOps, Git, CICD, Pipeline Engineering, Release Management

  • Competency in Java or Clojure based development.  Full stack development experience would be a good advantage, else will need to pick up on the job

  • Containerization and container based development in ECS

  • Comprehensive understanding of AWS services, architecture and design, implementation and monitoring

  • Designing solutions and develop applications using numerous AWS services

  • Ability and keenness to pick up alternate technologies

  • Advantageous to have Kubernetes based experience or keenness and ability to learn

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is  $96,000-$124,614

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is  $101,250-$135,000

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the Boston Metro Area is $94,500-$126,000

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $84,375-$112,500

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $85,500-$114,000

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
