Our Team:

The Data Fabric team is responsible for software products that integrate data from multiple applications across the Medidata Platform, enable customers to access their data, and provides analytic tools and reports across the Medidata Platform.  While in this role, the Technical Content Strategist may be assigned to work on one or more products within the team, it is expected that the role will support products outside of the team including:

  • Medidata Rave Regulated Content Management (RCM) is a content management application that supports Rave eTMF, Rave Site Cloud: End of Study, and Rave Archive.

  • Intelligent Trials is an AI-powered application that brings together cross-industry real-time performance metrics, predictive models, and forecasting capabilities to give you a competitive edge in trial planning and execution

Who we’re looking for:

A Technical Content Strategist that can work in a fast paced environment and manage the following responsibles for user documentation that accompanies the assigned software products. Apply Technical Writing fundamentals to assigned documentation projects.

  • Participate as a member of an Agile product team for assigned products 

  • Create high-quality product documentation based on Medidata’s Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process 

  • Research product and terminology and apply domain knowledge to documentation 

  • Scope, plan, create and test deliverables using Medidata’s brand standards and processes

  • Translate complex technical content into clear and concise articles

  • Identify and build accurate description of tasks and user workflows in the assigned products’ knowledge spaces

  • Apply API documentation concepts 

  • Use content authoring, delivery and measurement tools - Confluence, Jira, Google Analytics, Acrolinx, Pendo for content creation 

  • Conduct content analysis and implement improvements based on feedback

  • Interview subject matter experts (SMEs) about assigned products

  • Serve as a peer editor to others’ content

  • Negotiate deliverables and apply problem solving skills to reach project decisions independently in a timely manner

  • Participate in UX meetings regarding user messaging, screen design, as well as propose and implement Progressive User Assistance and/or Context Sensitive help (CSH) as necessary

  • Collaborate with translation team on deliverables as required

  • Contribute to and be assertive in promoting TCS presence through participation and presentation within TCS as well as via blogs in 3DS.

  • Participate and/or lead internal/external initiatives to completion and track implementation for self or team.

Requirements (Education & Experience):


  • 6-9 years writing experience, preferably with software or online systems, both in technical writing and API Documentation.

  • Clinical experience a plus

  • Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills (both spoken and written)

  • Demonstrate emotional intelligence and open mindedness toward diversity and inclusion

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear and concise user content

  • Familiarity with tools such as: Confluence, Jira, Google Analytics, Acrolinx, Pendo o Ability to work on API Documentation

  • Project Management skills a plus

  • Ability to read basic code a plus

  • Familiarity about databases, networks, and knowledge infrastructure a plus o Experience working in an Agile environment preferred

  • Demonstrate ability to learn new tools and processes quickly

  • Ability to work on multiple assignments under tight deadlines

  • Attention to detail

  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to adapt to rapid changes in the team or Company

  • Demonstrate good listening skills.

  • Bachelor degree in English, Technical Communication, Engineering or scientific discipline strongly preferred

  • A Master’s degree a plus

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City.  As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.  Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base salary pay range for this position is $79,500 to $106,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission under the terms of applicable plan documents, while many of Medidata’s non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
