The theme of this year’s workship is “Return to the Basics—Does Quality Meet ‘User’ Requirements?” In this presentation at one of the leading conferences in the Asian market, de Vries will discuss the latest developments in web-based randomization, a key element to conducting adaptive clinical trials. De Vries will also detail the essential components of web-based randomization while offering proven techniques for reducing opportunities for clinician bias through web-based tools.

As track chair for the conference’s “Clinical Productivity Metrics & ROI” sessions, de Vries will provide opening remarks to the day’s events on February 7 and 8. He will introduce speakers from top-tier pharmaceutical companies on topics such as developing and implementing metrics programs and defining metrics for a global organization from a central point. The annual Clinical Trials Congress brings together executives and managers from some of the top pharmaceutical and clinical operations and outsourcing companies to discuss the latest advancements in EDC, penetrating global markets and innovative approaches to the trial design paradigm.

Glen is one of the founders of Medidata Solutions and has filled the role of chief technology officer since 1999. He is the lead architect of the Medidata Rave system and has grown Medidata’s Research & Development team to include top talent from the clinical research community, banking and enterprise resource planning industries.

Prior to his work with Medidata Solutions, Glen’s pioneering efforts in online physician/patient relationships were featured by The New York Times and drew the attention of the Office of Health and Human Services. He has more than 10 years of experience in medical software development, including electronic health records and consumer-targeted products.

Glen has been a featured presenter at multiple Drug Information Association (DIA) meetings in the U.S., as well as DIA Japan, SCDM, Bio-IT World, BIOPHEX, Partnerships with CROs, the National Medical Association Annual Meeting and American Urological Association Annual Meetings.
