About the Team:

You will be the primary customer-facing Transformation Architect within the Sales organization. You will bring experience leading global technology strategies with enterprise companies, defining strategic technology plans, and connecting multiple solutions for a holistic customer vision. You will establish yourself as a trusted advisor based on your in-depth experience delivering value to their business processes through technology. A sales background that enables you to support a pursuit engagement to completion while influencing and partnering with builders, architects, and C-suite leadership is critical to success. The Transformation Architect will develop an understanding of the customer's current operating environment and how the Medidata platform will integrate and complement their existing environment resulting in improved business and operational efficiencies. You will report to the Director of the team.

Responsibilities:

  • Expert and specialist in complex business-IT transformations including platform modernization, enterprise systems, digital transformation, cloud deployment and migrations, transformational outsourcing, governance, software development, and enterprise architecture
  • Work with Medidata product management to help inspire creativity through their understanding of current and new technologies and customer requirements
  • Help define account strategy with sales teams based on an understanding of customers current and future technology landscapes
  • Engage with the customer's executive management to gain insight into their corporate strategy and goals
  • Define end-to-end holistic outcome-based solutions in collaboration with sales, strategy, and business development teams
  • Ensure multiple solutions work together, align to enterprise architecture standards, use common solutions and services, and meet financial targets (cost and benefits)
  • Engage with system integrators, multiple ISVs and other partners while providing oversight
  • Create board ready presentations expressing the transformation strategy, solution vision and value case
  • Present the strategy to the C-suite including the CEO, COO, CFO, CIO, and CTO
  • Partner with Sales, Services and R&D Leadership teams to ensure understanding in Go to Market and Delivery strategies

Qualifications:

  • 15 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Science
  • Review/ensure opportunity qualification with sales
  • Review solution requirements scope and fit
  • Discover technical requirements, map solutions and explain business impacts to Executives
  • Collaborate with the Solution Consulting team such that the business architecture is represented from a technical perspective and data flows are accurate
  • Design/validate solution landscape that meets customer requirements
  • Lead/deliver business workshops to discover and identify requirements
  • Describe Clinical Data Repository / Data Warehouse / Ingestion of 3rd party data/ Outputs into multiple formats including SDTM
  • Ability to articulate Medidata's future vision for Big Data / Machine Learning / AI
  • Have an in-depth understanding of native cloud technologies and be able to conduct architectural discussions with cloud & data architects
  • Exposure and knowledge of established Enterprise Architecture frameworks (TOGAF, FEA, Gartner Meta).
  • Leverage/practice concepts more beneficial than certification alone
  • Maintain a close understanding and appreciation of competitive solutions differentiators
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade architectures for Fortune 1000 companies
  • Engage and influence C-level executives
  • Broad-based technology experience including cloud computing, applications development, DevOps, IoT, relational databases, NoSQL databases, analytics, networking, security, storage, compute, deployment, containers, and management
  • Visible IT Industry expertise on relevant topics related to enterprise IT infrastructure and adoption
  • Experience driving and closing complex deals in a matrixed organization
  • International technical sales and delivery experience w/ global F500 enterprise customers and partners

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on many factors including function, level, candidate experience, and geographic location.

  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $139,500 - $186,000.
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the California Bay Area is $147,750 - $197,000
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in Texas or Ohio is $126,000 - $168,000.
  • The salary range for positions that will be physically based in all other locations within the United States is $137,250 - $183,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
