Your Mission 

The Medidata Global Education Learning Solutions Designer develops and maintains eLearning and instructor-led learning content for Medidata products used throughout the clinical trial industry. These learning units and programs focus on the knowledge and skills that customers and employees across the Medidata Solutions ecosystem need to successfully complete their daily tasks. 

This position has responsibilities that extend globally to all of Medidata’s locations. This is a highly collaborative role that consults with key stakeholders in the organization to identify customer education and enablement needs, develop learning solutions, and execute the delivery of timely, quality learning experiences The qualified candidate who fills this position is passionate about learning and development, detail-oriented, and innovative. By working both independently and as part of a team, this role plays a critical component in keeping Medidata customers successful.

Global Education holds the responsibility to share the collective Medidata knowledge through educational courses, programs, and certifications we develop with the goal of having a positive and transformative impact on Medidata, our clients, and partners. The Learning Solutions Designer develops product training for Medidata customers and internal staff.  

Your Competencies: 

  • Exceptional Instructional Designer, project management, and time management capabilities. Solid understanding of how learning and development fits into the software development lifecycle and supports customer success

  • Excellent knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models, information mapping, persona development, learning path development

  • Skills and expertise in technical lesson and curriculum planning, video learning and development, eLearning and ILT course content development

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Ability to learn and understand software products and write structured course content in a consistent fashion, using content models and adhering to established governance models

  • Proficient in Instructional Design strategies and principles, SCORM, Articulate Storyline 360, Confluence, Google Workspace (G Suite), PhotoShop, Camtasia

  • Excellent partnership, peer-peer collaboration, and organizational/time management skills

  • Self-motivated, able to assume responsibility and work autonomously in a professional manner

  • Ability to understand and communicate concepts quickly and accurately

  • Experience designing training for global learners; proficient in International English, JIRA/Confluence agile practices, and preparing content for localization

  • Experience working with an Agile project management model

  • Ability to work within tight deadlines in a fast-paced, software development environment

  • SaaS experience, and knowledge of GaugeOnline platforms and Thought Industries LMS, is a plus 

  • This role is positioned out of our New York office; requires the ability to travel between the two East coast offices as needed (NYC and Iselin, NJ) .

 

Your Education & Experience:

  • Manage the on-time and quality correct delivery of your scope of product training, including successful fulfillment of activities involved in the planning, design, development, implementation, delivery, maintenance, and innovation of training and development programs used by Medidata customers, partners, and employees. Ensure deliverables are completed on time, with high quality and adhere to company standards. 

  • Work with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training needs; develop education plans to meet these needs. Design and develop eLearning courses, instructor-led training programs, video learning, and certification content units in sync with product releases.  Review and update course content during each product/patch-release cycle. 

  • Develop core framework components and learner personas requirements for this education and training curricula, courses, learning content, and associated materials through close partnership with product owners, SMEs, peers, and colleagues. On a continuous learning basis, integrate voice-of-the-customer (VOC) feedback into requirements and outcomes. 

  • Perform the following for new and existing courses: 

  • Needs-analysis 

  • Timeline/resource estimations 

  • Course design, production, quality control and implementation

  • Join in partnership with other education, enablement, and training professionals to deliver effective core and integrated education materials that support all training initiatives aligned with organizational strategies and objectives.

  • Learn and maintain the Medidata product knowledge and customer use cases required to develop engaging learning units and compelling course content that supports customer success and retention 

  • Develop stand-alone and integrated learning path certification components (exams, practical assessments, and capstones) that validate customer proficiencies 

  • Fulfill assignments in the form of objectives with goals and the process by which to meet goals.

  • Learn and support agile global education practices and content development best practices to measure/ensure quality, output, and impact of targeted objectives.

  • Proactively monitor all phases of your development work and identify issues quickly develop and execute solutions.

  • Establish strong partnerships and interactions with management, peers, functional technical leads, company SMEs, and other stakeholders. Gain the cooperation of others as needed.

  • Lead workstreams, working teams, and work groups to enable the successful delivery of your targeted outcomes. 

  • Develop and execute real-time status reporting and presentations, including technical information, to facilitate the successful management of your scope of work schedules.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to customers, stakeholders, and peers regarding your product area’s education and training scope of work.

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience. Master’s Degree preferred (Instructional Design, eLearning Technology, Learning Theory, etc).

  • 3-5 years of experience in the instructional design field, developing curricula/courseware for global customer-facing, technical software products - with content development scope covering eLearning, ILT, video-based training, and certification content development  

  • Experience with agile content management practices and working on an agile software development team 

  • Life Sciences, clinical content development experience preferred
