FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Medidata Solutions Vice President of Partnerships
Graham Bunn Named to PharmaVOICE 100
CRO-Technology Partnership Visionary
Recognized for Inspirational Industry Leadership

NEW YORK, N.Y. – August 2, 2010 – Medidata Solutions (NASDAQ: MDSO), a leading global provider of SaaS-based clinical development solutions, today announced that Vice President of Partnerships Graham Bunn has been honored by PharmaVOICE magazine as one of the 100 most inspiring people in the life sciences industry.

As a founding member of the European CDISC Coordinating Committee and an early member of the eClinical Forum, Bunn has driven the adoption of electronic data capture (EDC) and clinical data management (CDM) technology over the past 20 years and played a leading role in streamlining, standardizing and globalizing the clinical trial technology industry. While an executive at a leading global contract research organization (CRO), Bunn helped establish their EDC expertise, nurturing the CRO to implement some of the industry’s earliest CRO-led EDC trials and to grow to implement more than 160 EDC trials in just a few years.

In joining Medidata in 2005, Bunn set out to evolve the CRO-EDC provider relationship into a mutually beneficial long-term partnership, built on recognition of each company’s strengths and with a shared focus on helping biopharma customers efficiently execute their clinical trials. By focusing on long-term pay-offs and creating a program that allows CROs to join, train staff in stages and increase commitment over time, Bunn has grown Medidata’s channel partner program to include more than 25 CROs and other service providers—ranging from global CROs to smaller clinical consultancies–located throughout the drug development world in the Americas, Europe and Asia Pacific.

“When Graham joined our team, he brought a new vision of true partnership to the CRO-vendor relationship and has been successfully putting it into practice ever since. He has created a highly collaborative, mutually beneficial partner program that uniquely complements our partners’ business models and capabilities,” said Glen de Vries, President, Medidata Solutions. “Graham truly exemplifies his philosophy that ‘you only get out of a partnership what you put in,’ and it is an inspirational attitude for not only his team, but the entire industry.”

Leading executives from across the life sciences industry were nominated for this year’s PharmaVOICE top 100 most inspirational people. A panel of PharmaVOICE editors chose the winners based on their ability to inspire, motivate and influence corporate leadership, research and development, technology, creativity and marketing and strategy. With this honor, Bunn becomes the sixth Medidata executive to be recognized with the PharmaVOICE 100 award, which include Medidata’s co-founders Tarek Sherif and Glen de Vries as well as Vice President of Data Operations Lori Shields.

“Graham Bunn’s expertise in creating and building collaborative partnerships without following a one-size-fits-all approach has enabled him to become a driving force in the industry,” said Taren Grom, Editor-in-Chief and Co-Founder of PharmaVOICE. “For more than 20 years, Graham has been involved with the evolution of global EDC and CRO markets to benefit the entire clinical research community, and we are honored to include him as part of the 100 most innovative individuals within the life sciences industry.”
