FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Global CRO to Offer Full Portfolio of Medidata Rave Services to
Support Customers’ Clinical Programs

NEW YORK, N.Y. – August 31, 2010 – Medidata Solutions (NASDAQ: MDSO), a leading global provider of SaaS-based clinical development solutions, today announced that PharmaNet Development Group has joined Medidata’s ASPire to Win® channel partner program. A global, drug development services company, PharmaNet will add Medidata Rave®, a leading electronic data capture (EDC) and clinical data management (CDM) solution, as an effective tool in its conduct of global clinical trials.

With 38 facilities worldwide, New Jersey-based PharmaNet provides consulting, Phase I clinical studies, bioequivalency and pharmacodynamic studies, bioanalytical analyses, and Phase II–IV clinical development programs to the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, generic drug and medical device industries. PharmaNet has more than ten years of experience conducting EDC trials utilizing both commercially available and PharmaNet’s proprietary EDC systems.

PharmaNet has joined Medidata’s CRO partner program, with its extensive training and certification features, to facilitate the use of Medidata Rave for a range of Phase I–IV clinical studies, including large, complex global studies, taking advantage of Rave’s intuitive interface for clinical investigators that facilitates site recruitment and retention. Medidata Rave’s extensive data management and reporting capabilities are designed to support the research sponsor in driving efficiencies throughout the clinical development process. Rave’s industry-leading standards-based interoperability also provides easy integration with other tools for effective data sharing.

“Our clients consistently challenge us to provide the highest-quality services while running their trials efficiently—Rave helps us achieve those goals,” said Dalvir Gill, PhD, President, Late Stage Development, PharmaNet. “It provides the scalability to support our global footprint and the flexibility we need to create eClinical environments for rapid data sharing. From its ease-of-use and multilingual support to its double data entry and robust reporting for effective data analysis—Rave will effectively support the diverse group of investigators who participate in our studies.”

“We are pleased to welcome PharmaNet as a Medidata channel partner. As a world-class CRO, PharmaNet’s participation in our partner program significantly helps us to further meet global demand for Rave across all phases of clinical development,” said Graham Bunn, Vice President for Global Partnerships, Medidata Solutions. “We look forward to a strong partnership and most importantly, to helping drive their customer’s research initiatives.”

Medidata first announced its channel partner program in April 2005 to enable select CROs and other service providers to offer Medidata Rave implementation services. Since then, the program has grown to include more than 25 partners, ranging from smaller clinical consultancies to large, global CROs.
