Medidata Announces Executive Promotions and the Establishment of Patient Cloud as a Dassault Systèmes Life Sciences & Healthcare Brand

Medidata, a Dassault Systèmes company, today announces a reorganization creating new opportunities for the Company, customers, and people within the life science and healthcare sectors. Tarek Sherif and Glen de Vries, Medidata co-founders and co-CEOs, will serve as chair and vice-chair of Dassault Systèmes Life Sciences & Healthcare, respectively. Taking Sherif and de Vries’ place as co-CEOs of Medidata are executive vice president and chief technology officer, Rama Kondru, and president of Medidata Acorn AI, Sastry Chilukuri. In their new co-CEO roles, Kondru and Chilukuri will also sit on Dassault Systèmes’ Life Sciences & Healthcare sector board, working on business models and strategy and life sciences research and development.

Anthony Costello, president of Patient Cloud, will serve as the group’s CEO. Patient Cloud is a suite of digital health solutions designed to collect high-quality data from engaged patients regardless of their location. Whether a study is primarily site-based or a decentralized clinical trial (DCT), Patient Cloud capabilities -- myMedidata, Sensor Cloud, Registries, eCOA (clinical outcome assessment), and eConsent -- help create a better overall study experience for patients and sites.

As Sherif, de Vries, Kondru, Chilukuri, and Costello assume their new roles, so will the following Medidata, Patient Cloud, and Dassault Systemes leaders:

• Rouven Bergmann assumes the role of chief operating officer for Life Sciences, overseeing operations and defining strategy.
• Tobias Schaefer assumes the new role of chief financial officer of Dassault Systèmes’ Medidata and Patient Cloud.
